"I don't speak a foreign language. It's embarrassing!" Barack Obama exclaimed at a town hall meeting during his 2008 presidential campaign in Dayton, Ohio. Obama, who often touts his time growing up overseas, made the confession while emphasizing the importance of children learning foreign languages. He went on to insist that language is the key to our children's future stating: "it is a powerful tool for future employment."

Obama was answering a question on education when he stated that he didn't understand people who needed only one language: "You should be thinking about how can your child become bilingual. We should have every child speaking more than one language."

The same principle lies behind Helen Doron Early English, a leading provider of English learning. The company which was created 25 years ago, is based on the belief that learning English early in life gives children a significant head- start. Turn that into an even bigger advantage by using the only internationally acclaimed early English learning method that allows children to absorb English in the exact same way they learn their mother tongue- with confidence and ease- and you have success.

There is much talk of a 'window' for learning language in children, and research has shown that by the age of six, the human brain has indeed achieved almost all of its significant growth. Learning a second language at a young age helps develop the child's brain pathways in the auditory cortex, stimulating general intelligence.

According to the Helen Doron Early English learning system, which operates as a worldwide educational franchise operation, enjoyment and engagement is necessary in order to open the mind to learning, and hone intellectual skills at any age. Children will begin learning English with joy and vitality if they are feeling confident and having fun.

Concluding his speech, Obama supported this same notion stating, "…children will actually learn a foreign language easier when they're 5, 6 or 7, than when they're 46 like me."
