BESTProto Inc. Develops Backplane and Large PCB Assembly Capability

BESTProto has brought online the capability to assemble large PCBs including backplanes. In addition to its electronic testing and prototype/ small lot size build capabilities BESTProto has now developed the capability to assemble backplanes for the military, communications, industrial and medical industries.

BESTProto Inc. announces a new capability for backplane manufacturers-the ability to assemble large format PCBs and backplanes.

This capability allows BESTProto to work with designers and manufacturers to handle large format PC boards that may also be thick and heavy. The newest pick and place machine is capable of handling boards that are up to up to 29” X 24” (745mm X 610mm) in size and weigh as much as 22 pounds (10kG). Also, the machinery has the ability to handle boards-up to .39” or approximately 10mm in thickness. Not only can this machine handle the constantly shifting weight but it can place BGAs down to 0.2mm in pitch, Micro BGA’s and 0201 package sizes as well.
