Everyone needs to eat and we want to make food more enjoyable
Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) January 28, 2010
Hawaii is known to most as a tropical paradise of sandy beaches, grass skirts and coconuts, surfing and palm trees; an escape from the mainland to a warm-weathered utopia in the Pacific. And although these fantasy-like expectations of the islands are almost always fulfilled, it's important to know that the 50th state to our beloved nation has much more to offer than the its legendary tourist attractions.
Founded in 1981, Arturo's Hot Flavors of Hawaii - a company specializing in gourmet Hawaiian-made foods -has dedicated the past almost three decades to promoting a new face of Hawaii, one that is comprised of original, edible creations (all locally made) combined with the notion that their products provide a balanced blend of flavor, fun and cultural enjoyment.
"We want to emphasize that all of our products are locally made because we've found that the Hawaiian name gets thrown around much too often and, in most cases, without authenticity," said Stephen Geimer, the company's general manager who joined forces with this prosperous enterprise in 1994.
Launched in 2007, http://www.SpecialtyFoodsHawaii.com was formulated to establish an online supermarket of gourmet, Hawaiian-made foods. The Web site provides a more cost-effective approach to savoring the delectable and cultural flavors of the islands.
"Everyone needs to eat and we want to make food more enjoyable," Geimer said.
Such a mantra - plain and simple - has led to unbelievable creations in their kitchen; hot sauce made with seaweed and ginger (excellent sushi and sashimi sauce) or a banana and coconut curry - yum. Overall, their collection of savory and original recipes includes gourmet items such as cookies, coffee and tea, jam and jellies, hot sauces (available in 20 varieties) and more.
Shoppers are encouraged to check back often, as the company continues to update their Web site with new options. Additional specialty teas, dry seasonings, more cooking sauces and Island Teriyaki Sauce (back by popular demand) are just on the horizon.
In the grander sense, Geimer would like to develop a travel package for tourists that represented the many flavors and ingredients authentic to the great state of Hawaii. Still under development, such a plan would began as a suggested itinerary and later evolve into a reality available for purchase.
To learn more about the delicious foods of Hawaii, customers are prompted to visit the Web site's newly implemented blog, http://www.HawaiiFoodFun.com. This interactive tool will also be used to discuss the latest foods news (including soon-to-be-added informational and how-to videos) and creative combinations when cooking.
"Through February 15, 2010 we would like to reward customers who visit our blog with a 20 percent discount off any purchase of $25 or more, which can be applied toward the delicious creations our Web site has to offer," Geimer said. "We also invite visitors to share with us their ideas of Fun Food Hawaii."
SpecialtyFoodsHawaii.com is dedicated to providing quality products of the freshest ingredients and innovative creations that are matched with an attitude that incorporates fun and culture into every bite.
