“It was a great day,” said Fullerton afterwards. “This is the culmination of many hours spent at race meetings, studying and methodically following performance.”

With an estimated £60 million profit banked over four days, there is no doubt that bookmakers enjoyed unprecedented success at the Cheltenham Festival. However, top horse racing tipster John Fullerton managed to buck the trend by providing punters with an astonishing five consecutive winning tips in a row.
Cheshire-based horse racing analysts, John Fullerton, provided four successful selections on an incredible first day at Prestbury Park – then followed it up with another winner in the opening race on day two. Fullerton’s achievement is all the more remarkable when you consider that that five favourites were turned over on the first day, starting with a shock defeat for 4/5 Irish ‘super horse’ Dunguib in the festival opener.
In the second race, the prestigious £150,000 Arkle Challenge Trophy, Fullerton had identified 6/1 shot Sizing Europe as a real threat to the strongly fancied Captain Cee Bee. The Henry De Bromhead trained eight-year-old did not disappoint as he took the lead from two furlongs out and held off the fast finishing Somersby to win by a length.
“Sizing Europe gave me, and members of my Inside Gambler endorsed service, the best possible start to the festival,” said Fullerton. “He’s posted some very good performances in Ireland over the past six months and had obviously been prepared perfectly for Cheltenham by Henry.
“I thought he may have gone a bit early [in the race] but showed real heart in that final furlong.”
Fullerton’s next selection ran in the day’s showpiece race, the £370,000 Smurfit Kappa Champion Hurdle Chase. In a sprint that saw an unexpected victory for the popular and talented Binocular, Fullerton had advised a 15/2 each-way gamble on second place finisher Khyber Kim. The Nigel Twiston-Davies trained gelding, while never looking likely to overhaul the winner, held off a host of esteemed challengers including Zaynar, Celestial Halo, Punjabi and short odds favourite Go Native.
Fullerton was celebrating again in the very next race after advising his members to back eventual runner up L’Ami each way at 4/1. The wily 11-year-old chestnut led the field over the last fence in the gruelling Cross-Country, but ultimately couldn’t hold off the surprise winner A New Story. Neither Fullerton, owner J P McManus or trainer Edna Bolger was complaining though – the French horse had run the race of his life to make it a hat-trick for Fullerton.
When a market leader did finally oblige on the first day, with 6/4 shot Quevega landing the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle for the second year running, Fullerton had again advised members of his exclusive service to back the right horse. As Quevega crossed the line five lengths clear of her nearest rival, Fullerton stood in the grandstand celebrating the win and the conclusion of a perfect day.
His members didn’t have to wait long for the next win. In the first race of day two, the £100,000 Neptune Novices’ Hurdle, 7/1 shot Peddlers Cross crossed the line ahead of the field to score another winner for Fullerton and make it a phenomenal five out of five.
