The feature film, “Beyond The Farthest Star” is utilizing the web to get its message out to the public while the cameras are still rolling in Dallas. In an effort to build its audience, the filmmakers have established a unique blog site, http://www.BeyondTheFarthestStar.com. The site features video footage from the set, news reports, cast bios, interviews, photo stills, blogs and a viral video that are updated in on-going blogs. It also incorporates a registration service allowing the user to register for exclusive on-going updates. Viewers can encourage friends to visit the site and spread the word through Twitter, FaceBook and MySpace.
The independent film employs these marketing techniques while building its audience. In addition, producers incorporate a viral video where viewers are challenged to answer the question, “What is Beyond The Farthest Star?” This is a collection of street interviews where people of various backgrounds are asked the question. The video is available on the site as well as YouTube.
“Beyond The Farthest Star” includes in its cast Todd Terry (“Cadillac Jack”, “Arlington Road”, “Fissure”), Renee O’Connor ("Xena", "State Of Hate", "Boogeyman 2"), Barry Corbin (“No Country for Old Men”, “One Tree Hill”, “War Games”), Billy McNamara (“Copycat”, “Chasers”, “Legend of Hell’s Gate”), Andrew Prine (“The Miracle Worker”, “Gettysburg”, “The Dukes of Hazzard”) and introducing Cherami Leigh as Anne Wells. The film is set for a Christmas 2010 release.
"Beyond" is produced by Benjamin Dane ("The Significant Other", "Still Born"), Sally Helppie ("Exit Speed", "The Beacon"), and helmed by writer/director, Andrew Librizzi ("Holding On", "Still Born").
“We know people want to see a story like this. So we have invested our resources in this website so everyone can follow our efforts in pre-production, filming and its eventual release,” states Producer Benjamin Dane. “We’ve made the experience visually captivating and plan on releasing clips as they become available.”
“Beyond” is an "American Beauty" meets Frank Capra-esque story of betrayal, forgiveness and redemption. Adam Wells, a minister driven by the prospect of achieving greatness as the next nationally syndicated TV Evangelist, lays down his opportunity at “celebrity” and even his own life for his wife and troubled daughter.
