Design Net Technical Products, a Rhode Island based product design and development firm, will officially announce an opportunity for service providers to offer their customers secure content using SpectraPod, an internet home theater product, at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) show, April 12-15, 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Design Net Technical Products, a RI based product design and development firm, will officially announce an opportunity for service providers to deliver secure content using SpectraPod, an internet home entertainment product, at NAB April 12 – 15, 2010. SpectraPod makes it possible to deliver movies, concerts and live events to the living room.

Since SpectraPod runs Windows®, it works with protected content in all current DRM formats. SpectraPod also includes hardware to comply with the Content Management Licensing Administrator (CMLA) security model currently used in over half a billion devices. Under this model, high-value content remains secure from its point of origin all the way to the HDTV. “Never before have content providers been able to deliver high-value programming directly to the living room,“ says Bob Bouthillier, President of Design Net. “Service providers and content owners can now sell tickets to movies, concerts and live events that will be shown in the home theater.” Bob adds, “To encourage the growth of this market, service providers who distribute SpectraPod will have free access to secure keys, while others will be charged a commission.”

The overall objective of CMLA is to enable a wide and trusted distribution of premium content to the large digital ecosystem. http://www.cm-la.com/
