"Francis Collins is wrong!" argues George Cunningham M.D. Dr. Cunningham will be interviewed June 1 2PM EST on the podcast Skepticality. Cunningham, a fellow genetist, refutes the claim made by Francis Collins, recently confirmed as the Director of The National Institutes of Health, that he has provided an intellectually satisfying reconciliation of science and Christianity in his best selling book "The Language of God - A Scientist Presents Evidence for Belief".
Cunningham accuses Collins of magical thinking, poor use of logic and naivete with respect to the reliability of the Bible in his book "Decoding the Language of God - Can a Scientist Really Be a Believer?" Atheists, like Sam Harris, have been concerned that Collins "born again" views might present a conflict of interests in his new position. While fundamentalist disagree with Collins support of evolution, Christians in general have used Collins' book to respond to the charge that their faith is unscientific and irrational. The pod cast can be heard on the website or on iTunes.
