San Diego, CA and Washington, DC (PRWEB) July 1, 2010
Source 44, LLC, the nation’s first and only provider of supply chain sustainability Footprint Data Sheet (FDS)™ subscription services, has been signed as the title sponsor for the retail industry’s premier environmental and sustainability conference. RILA, the Retail Industry Leaders Association, announced the signing today – officially kicking off the final planning session for the September 22-24 event.
“We’re thrilled to have a pioneer like Source 44 as our title sponsor,” said Sandy Kennedy, President of RILA. “They have quickly become very active members of our organization, and having them as our Title Sponsor certainly provides both substance and style for our event,” she said.
Jess Kraus, President and CEO of Source 44, said the company’s selection was the culmination of many hours of critical planning. “This is a partnership that Source 44 is committed to, and represents a great opportunity to work directly with many of our key clients,” Kraus said.
Kraus added that Source 44 will be an active member on the sustainability and planning committee, and is committed to playing a key multi-year role in assisting RILA’s sustainability and product stewardship initiatives.
“RILA is best defined by the companies we represent: America’s leading retailers including Wal-Mart, Costco, Target, Home Depot, Lowes, Walgreens, JCPenney, Best Buy, REI, and Hy-Vee,” Kennedy added. “RILA proudly counts nine of the top 10 U.S. retailers as members. The 200 members of RILA together account for more than $1.5 trillion in annual sales, millions of American jobs and more than 150,000 stores, manufacturing facilities and distribution centers domestically and abroad,” she said.
“RILA has made a commitment to advancing industry leadership in environmental sustainability,” Kennedy said, “and we look forward to working with Source 44 to meet this goal.”
The conference will be held September 22-24 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina in San Diego, CA, and brings together executives involved in establishing environmental programs and integrating green practices into their companies. The conference’s program will address the key operational aspects of environmental sustainability and compliance for the retail industry, including sessions on energy management and greenhouse gases, waste management and recycling, water conservation, product design and packaging, communications and reporting, facilities design and supply chain management. In its third year, the conference truly has become the educational and networking forum for the who’s who of retail sustainability. For more information: http://www.rila.org
