R Models Cloud-enabled in IBM CoD Using Zircon Ultra High Performance Software Deliver 100 times Speed Improvement

Wayne, New Jersey – July 5, 2010 -- Zircon Computing today announced the results of a recent project in which it produced performance improvements of over 100 times faster over traditional approaches. Zircon will be featured at the upcoming R User Conference 2010 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), July 20-23, 2010.    

“Limitations in the R environment make it impossible to find performance improvements at any price, and there are no production-ready cloud based solutions available today. The Zircon team quickly established an ultra high performance solution in which financial models that originally took 2,217 minutes to calculate are now 22 minutes to execute, delivering a performance improvement of over 100 times.
