International Biometric Group (IBG) is hosting a free webcast, "DRDC Stand-Off Face and Iris Recognition Field Studies: Results and Findings," on Thursday, July 8 at 1:00 pm EST.
IBG recently completed an operational evaluation of stand-off face and iris recognition technologies. The 6-week field trial was conducted as part of the Defence Research and Development Canada's Public Security Technical Program.
Results from the evaluation are relevant to agencies considering face or iris recognition for border control, surveillance, or other public safety applications. IBG Director of Special Projects Michael Thieme will discuss results and findings from the field study including the following:
- Identification rates
- Enrollment and capture rates
- Transaction times
- Relationship between genuine scores, impostor scores, and thresholds
- Performance over the course of the 6-week trial
- Outliers and the "biometric zoo"
- Findings and recommendations
