Multinational Toolmaker Gedore Opens U.S. Distribution Center in Charleston, South Carolina

The Gedore Group manufacturers of specialty hand tools for professionals in automotive, aviation, windpower and industrial applications opened a new U.S. distribution center in Charleston, South Carolina.

All tools destined for the U. S. are made in Germany and stocked in our new distribution center in N. Charleston, South Carolina.

Grand opening ceremonies for Gedore Tools, Inc., the new headquarters and distribution center of The Gedore Group were held July 1st at its facility in North Charleston, SC. Company president Timo Winter and his staff displayed selections from a stocking inventory of 4,500 tools for automotive, aviation, windpower and industrial applications as they welcomed customers, guests and dignitaries including North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey, German-American Chamber of Commerce CEO Kristian Wolf and Executive Director Dirk Berg from The Gedore Group world headquarters in Remscheid, the “tool city” of Germany.

Mr. Berg said Gedore, founded in 1919, is a family-owned company and now the largest toolmaking conglomerate in the world, employing over 3,000 in 35 subsidiaries doing business in 70 countries.

The Gedore Group manufactures and distributes specialty hand tools for professionals. Its catalogs list more than 18,000 products made by Gedore craftsmen at company plants in Germany, Austria, South Africa and Brazil.

In his welcoming remarks, Mr. Winter noted that “all tools destined for the U.S. are made in Germany,“ then stocked in the distribution center at 7187 Bryhawke Circle, Suite 700, N. Charleston, SC.
