About the Author
Born in Ireland in 1922, author Janet Wilson was educated at a girls' school, at age thirteen received honours grades in seven subjects in an exam intended for 15-year-olds. She went to the local technical college, got a job in the office of a large linen manufacturing firm in Belfast. She married Harry in 1947, two years after the war. They moved to Australia in 1961 with Michael, age five, and three-year-old Carmen; Simon was born in 1962. Harry died in 1974. Wilson loved walking out with her little dog, spent many enjoyable hours writing and has traveled extensively.
