Just yesterday she was creating books and cards for her kids teaching them to reach not realizing this will touch kids and adults all over. This organization has reached a mile stone and are very excited to give kids and adults the gift of success; teaching them to read. Flash, Match, & Read is a new company with a vision that every child will learn to read.
Contesia Sanders, the owner of Flash, Match, & Read states they are starting to get other cultures involved in early child hood reading. Talking about reading to parents she thought would come easy but she notice that parents from other cultures are more concerned than those who speak English as their language. Statistics seems to indicate that there is a possibility many kids are at risk of being left behind. Here are some figures from the National Institute of Child and Development. Nearly 20-30% of all children who enter school have some trouble reading but with extra support from parents and teachers, they can catch up. About 30% more children need intensive support and about 5% will need special education. Research shows that many of these kids don't have a literary environment at home that is supportive enough to teach them to read.
Joyce of Fort Pierce worked with special need individuals finds the concept so simple and she feels her individuals with will learn to read and have fun doing it.
Flash, Match, & Read is learning to read made simple and fun. It targets key areas that are vital to a child's reading ability. Besides keeping kids focused and engaged, the game teaches visual discrimination, similarities and differences, visual memory, patterning, word recognition and a host of other learning related skills.
Owners of Flash, Match, & Read are hoping that more parents would get involved with their children education and give them the gift of success; teach them to read. For more information on giving your children a reading head start can be found at http://www.flashmatchread.com.
