Founded in 2004, the National Association of Land Title Examiners and Abstractors is the only national trade group specifically designed for the growth and development of title abstractors. Through its efforts, NALTEA members continue to improve their services and products through extended marketability and improved industry standards.

The National Association of Land Title Examiners and Abstractors (NALTEA) established the NCA (NALTEA Certified Abstractor) & NMA (NALTEA Master Abstractor) designations last year. Real estate industry professionals can use the designation to identify abstractors who have demonstrated a high level of competence and experience in their title knowledge and abstracting skills. Forty-two NALTEA title abstractors nationwide have attained certification status to date and the program is attracting the interest of local title associations and vendor managers.

NALTEA members with a minimum of three years professional experience may contact Education Committee Chairperson Jeanne Johnson, education(at)naltea(dot)org, to start the certification process.

NALTEA membership continues to grow in 2010 with an 18% increase over last year. The Association has announced that their annual conference will be held in October 22 - 24, 2010 in Dallas, TX. If you are interested in attending, please contact Events Committee Chairperson Ed Gunther, events(at)naltea(dot)org, for more information.

The first edition of the NALTEA printed membership directory has been released as of April 2010. The directory contains a listing of professional abstractors who are members of the Association. Companies who would benefit from receiving a copy can request one free of charge by contacting NALTEA Public Relations Chairperson David Pelligrinelli, publicrelations(at)naltea(dot)org.

The real estate industry is adapting to a new environment of settlement requirements, lending guidelines, foreclosures / short sales, and higher expectations of professionalism and skills. As the only national trade group specifically for title abstractors, NALTEA is maintaining a high profile in the industry, and proactively helping member abstractors prosper in the next decade.
