Former Publisher and Internet Media Vet Join Growing Firm

I’m looking forward to bringing my experience as a local magazine publisher to the team at Godengo...

Godengo, a provider of multimedia digital platforms for magazine publishers, today announced it has added two experienced media professionals to its sales team serving the magazine publishing industry.

Steve Hesson has joined the firm, based in Columbus, Ohio, where he had previously been publisher of his own franchise of Housetrends magazine, after serving as an advertising sales professional for the publication in the Dayton and Cincinnati markets. Prior to that experience, Hesson sold regional advertising for Playbill Magazine for a Cincinnati-based firm that represented that publication.

After becoming a publisher for Housetrends magazine, Hesson began to experience the digital transformation in his industry. “I quickly realized the print world was moving online, and I engaged Godengo to redesign the web site for the Housetrends network.” Subsequently, in June, Hesson joined Godengo to help other publishers take advantage of the new digital opportunities in the field. “I’m looking forward to bringing my experience as a local magazine publisher to the team at Godengo Inc., as well as the opportunity to work directly with magazine publishers across the world on building a sustainable online/print product.”

A second sales professional, Aaron Johnson, has also joined the Godengo sales team. For the past six years, Johnson has been with Internet Broadcasting in a variety of roles, including supporting and training television sales organizations in online sales best practices. He has worked in the Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Seattle, Honolulu, Orlando, San Francisco, Cincinnati, and New Orleans markets. Most recently, Johnson was based in New York City, where he was one of the top account executives for Internet Broadcasting, working with such clients as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Walmart, Hyatt, Continental, Staples, Jet Blue, and Capital One. Johnson will be based in Los Angeles for Godengo.

“We’re very excited to have these two seasoned sales professionals on our team,” said Kim Keller Godengo’s Vice President of Sales. “Not only do they bring a rich heritage of print and Internet experience, but they’ve also spent considerable time in the field selling online media and training sales organizations on how to monetize their web sites, which is a key focus at Godengo.”
