WorkforceLogic’s CEO, Catherine Candland, is slated to be a featured speaker at the Contingent Workforce Strategies (CWS) Summit, October 19-20 in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Candland will participate on a panel with other experts in workforce management—Grace Soriano-Abad from NetApp; Brian Clancy from Morgan Stanley; and Stacey Campbell from Littler Mendelson. The panel discussion will focus on challenges that may arise as companies plan their overall contingent workforce strategy and consider moving business overseas. The session is aptly titled “Risk and Your Global Contingent Workforce: What You Need to Know.”

To put in place an expansion plan, companies need to be well versed in the areas of local labor law, supplier relationships, and the culture of the local people. The expert panelists will offer insights gleaned from their experiences in contingent workforce staffing and recruiting, global talent management, and global labor law and compliance. Also on the table for discussion will be intellectual property rights, termination, compensation, health benefits, representation of workers, employee information, and data privacy.

Catherine Candland is a frequent public speaker who has been cited by the media on global workforce staffing, skills training, and human resources issues. When asked to comment on her participation at the summit, Candland said, “With over 400 fellow contingent workforce specialists in attendance, I was honored to be asked to share my experiences about the risks companies encounter when doing business globally. I also look forward to comparing notes with Grace Soriano-Abad and the other experts. We’ll have an incredible wealth of information in one room.”

Grace Soriano-Abad is the Sr. Director of Global Talent for NetApp, an industry leader in Data Storage Management. While at NetApp, Grace has been blazing uncharted territory through her realignment of the staffing function to better support NetApp’s growth strategy. A 20-year veteran in the industry, she educates and partners with leaders on the development of a sustainable workforce optimization delivery model to propel NetApp into the future.
