When Cindy and Jerry Jackson launched their online enterprise in 2008, tire and barbecue grill covers were the last thing on their minds. Originally, the Jacksons began selling health and beauty products online but found a glut of competition and an unfavorable market.
After middling results with health and beauty products, the Jacksons decided to seek out a more targeted product line. Jerry was able to find a local dropshipper offering a variety of covers with authentic professional and college logos. The Jacksons visited the dropshipper to get a firsthand look at the manufacturing process and become acquainted with the product line.
The web entrepreneurs decided to change their product line, and in 2010 http://www.TeamSportsCovers.com was born as a site specializing in sports-themed tire and barbecue grill covers. Within months of putting the covers online, the Jacksons began to see sales with their revised product line.
“It’s all about finding a product that people can’t find in a store,” Cindy said. “Anything related to sports is a great market to get into because people are always looking for ways to support their favorite team.”
In order to promote return customers, The Jacksons are always offering special discounts and promotional programs through the site. Additionally, TeamSportsCovers.com is one of the only retailers in the industry that offers discount pricing for bulk orders.
With two websites live already and a third one in the works, the Jacksons have been able to find a core line of products with mass appeal.
