Kastan Mining announced today that Langalanga Mihayo Mgengeli has been appointed Controller and Director of Administration for the Company. Mr. Mgengeli is a well rounded, seasoned Finance professional with over 30 years experience. He began his career working as an auditor for the Tanzania Audit Corporation (TAC) where he held a variety assignments including Assistant State Auditor. After leaving the TAC he served as Chief Accountant and Director of Finance for several Tanzanian companies, worked as a Financial Management Specialist in a local government reform program for the Presidents and Prime Ministers Office’s in the Morogoro Region, and has been a lecturer in Accounting at Azania College of Management. Mr. Mgengeli is a CPA and obtained an Advanced Diploma in Accountancy from Mzumbe University and a Master of Science Degree in Finance from Stracthcylde University, Scotland.
Kastan’s CEO, John Tate, noted, “As the senior Finance professional at Kastan, Langalanga will have responsibility for for designing, implementing, and managing the Company’s accounting, internal control, and administrative activities. His broad based experience will be very useful to Kastan as the Company grows its operations in Tanzania and his experience as a lecturer will help us to develop the skill sets of the junior Finance staff.
