Author, exercise specialist, and certified nutritionist Isabel De Los Rios is helping expectant mothers understand that moderate exercise and solid nutrition are part of a healthy pregnancy diet plan through her educational video series What to Eat While Pregnant available at http://www.WhatToEatWhilePregnant.com/.
Researchers at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore have begun studying the impact exercise has on fetal development. The study includes sixty pregnant women in their third trimester and involves close monitoring of both mother and baby during the moderate to vigorous treadmill exercise.
It is hoped that the data gleaned from this study will provide researchers with the information they need to develop workout routines custom tailored for those at various levels of fitness.
Dr. Andrew J. Satin, professor and vice chairman of the department of gynecology and obstetrics for Hopkins School of Medicine explains, “We do know that not only can exercise be done, it should be done.”
Certified nutritionist Isabel De Los Rios agrees that exercise is an important part of a healthy pregnancy diet plan, though she encourages, “Talk to your doctor before you start any workout and if you’re not feeling well at all, stop right away.”
De Los Rios goes onto say, “This is not the time to push through pain. You’re pregnant and you’re taking care of yourself and your little one, so be mindful of what your body is telling you.”
In her new educational video series What to Eat While Pregnant, De Los Rios encourages mothers-to-be to develop a healthy pregnancy diet plan by focusing on moderate exercise and solid nutrition.
Isabel De Los Rios earned a pre-med degree in exercise physiology from Rutgers University and is a certified Holistic Nutrition Lifestyle Coach whose all natural, scientifically-based weight loss plan The Diet Solution Program has helped more than 50,000 people lose weight permanently.
De Los Rios has combined her science education, nutritional background, and personal experience as a new mom to create the video series What to Eat While Pregnant. The videos are designed to help expectant mothers understand how to develop a nutritious pregnancy diet plan.
