Local artist Linnea Hoover visits Monroe for her Urbane Cowboy series.

"I like these 'ah ha' moments"

Local artist Linnea Hoover is bringing her Urbane Cowboy series to Monroe through November 30th. As a skilled local artist trained at CalArts, Linnea is bringing her latest series for display at the Monroe Public Library located at 1070 Village Way, Monroe, WA 98272.

Linnea is a 22 year artist who’s works have been influenced by a number of distinctive artists from diverse backgrounds, who work in different mediums, including black and white photography, illustration, sculpture, and painting.

Linnea prides herself in her use of diverse patterns and fine lines. “I think a great piece of art should first be viewed at a distance. When you get to an intermediate distance, it should have more to share--there should be an interesting pose; a nice expression, a unique costume that draws your attention and keeps it. Finally, when you get close, you notice the detail work that makes it a special piece of art, not just another figure on a page. I like these 'ah ha' moments when you see something unexpected,” states Linnea.
