Software Integrates Seamlessly with HID Global’s FARGO® HDPii Financial Card Printer

NBS Technologies (US), Inc. (“NBS”), a leading provider of smart card software solutions today announced it has successfully integrated NBS’ instant issuance software solution, Xpressi™, with HID Global’s FARGO HDPii card printer/encoder, resulting in a robust instant card issuance solution aimed specifically at the financial market.

“Financial institutions can now utilize NBS’ instant issuance software, Xpressi, with the FARGO HDPii card printer/encoder to instantly produce financial cards - credit, debit and ATM magnetic stripe, contact or contactless smart cards,” comments Ramesh Ajitaprasad, General Manager of NBS’ Software Division. “We feel that this is a very competitive software / hardware combination and further highlights the flexibility of Xpressi software with its capability to instantly produce smart cards using almost any printer on the market today.”

The FARGO HDPii printer/encoder’s retransfer printing technology seals the card image under the HDP film for increased durability and fraud protection while also replicating the look of preprinted cards. The printer is designed specifically for the secure, instant issuance of financial cards. NBS believes that this software / hardware combination gives financial institutions the flexibility to incorporate vivid, over-the-edge designs, whether using traditional magnetic stripe card stock, contactless payment cards or contact chip EMV cards.

NBS has several other card printer options for its instant issuance solution, including the latest Javelin card printer range using thermal printing technology, and the Advantage M20 card embosser for environments requiring embossed cards. The choice of printing technology is completely up to the financial institution based upon their individual needs and budgetary requirements.

“We are pleased to work with NBS to bolster their financial card instant issuance portfolio with the addition of HID Global’s FARGO HDPii card printer/encoder to NBS’ offering. Our printer/encoder solution combined with NBS’ instant issuance software, Xpressi, provides a great offering to customers looking for a powerful solution in the market,” said Apryl Erickson, Director of North American Secure Issuance Sales with HID Global. “We believe that the growing interest in instant card issuance is driven by the fact that it enables financial institutions to increase their card profit by reducing operational cost and increasing usage through faster card activation or enticing loyalty programs.”

NBS will be showcasing its instant issuance solution utilizing the FARGO HDPii card printer/encoder at CARTES 2010 in Paris, France between 7th and 9th December, 2010. Event attendees are invited to experience this instant issuance solution alongside NBS’ vast array of other market solutions at NBS’ booth - 3 G 035.
