In the latest episode of "Advancing Your Photography," Marc Silber chats with award-winning travel photographer Bob Holmes to find out what it's like to photograph some of the most exotic places in the world, as well as to discuss specific techniques beginning photographers can use to improve their own craft.
With decades of experience working in the travel photography industry, Holmes has captured breathtaking photos everywhere from the snow-capped mountains of Nepal to the rocky shores of the California coast. He has worked for magazines like National Geographic, Lonely Planet and Departures, and has been the sole photographer for 46 books. He has also been named Travel Photographer of the Year a record three times.
During the interview at http://www.SilberStudios.tv, Holmes discusses what he's learned about the nuances of photography, such as the importance of learning to see light the way a camera does, or always making sure to be aware of composition in your frames.
Watch as Holmes talks about the essentials of photography -- equipment, research, lighting, composition and many more -- and listen in as he offers specific tips, tricks and techniques that photographers of every level can use to enhance their own skills.
“Keep shooting,” Holmes advises. “Shoot as much as you can. Photography is deceptively simple. You can’t expect to pick up a violin and play it within a week, and you can’t expect to pick up a camera and take great photos within a week. It just doesn’t happen.”
Marc Silber, a professional photographer himself, is the host of “Advancing Your Photography” where the world’s most accomplished artists and photographers are interviewed to find out what makes them tick, what makes them click, and what makes them so good at what they do.
Previous episodes of AYP have included intimate interviews and insights from photographers in every area of expertise. From the fields of documentary and combat to sports and fashion, http://www.SilberStudios.Tv offers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the industry’s leading professionals.
