Everyone has a story to tell, but that doesn’t mean people are listening. Filmmaker Pete Chatmon learned this the hard way. After graduating New York University’s, Tisch School of the Arts with a thesis film that screened at over 30 festivals around the world, including Sundance, Chatmon found that the entertainment industry was not paying attention and needed to find a solution to produce his debut feature film. He developed a grassroots marketing campaign to build awareness, excitement, and ultimately secure investors to the tune of over $500,000, culminating in “Premium”, starring Dorian Missick (NBC’s “The Cape”), Zoe Saldana ("Avatar", "Star Trek"), and Hill Harper ("CSI: NY"). As a result of that experience, Chatmon has launched Double7 Images to forge connections between companies, products, and people through social networks — both online and off.
Double7 Images is a diverse collective of 18 Filmmakers and Media Specialists (The Double7 Squad) uniquely positioned to assist and educate companies in building their fanbase with the intent of turning fans into Brand Ambassadors. To accomplish this, Double7 creates media campaigns complete with branded entertainment and community-nurturing initiatives. Under the motto “Putting Story First…”, Double7 utilizes proven storytelling strategies to entertain and engage consumers with the “why” and “how” behind its clients and their products, as opposed to simply talking about the “what”.
D7I has already partnered with a variety of clients, both domestic and international. The company has created campaigns and customized media for NXTM/Taylor Swift, Ubuntu Education Fund (South Africa), Arizona State University, Classic Kicks, RockJazz Pianist ELEW, Kid Concierge + Capital Brands, The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music at NYU, and many more.
