AutoLims provides assistance with meeting criteria in several areas

NeTLIMS NJ, LLC, a provider of advanced Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), announced recently that the company’s AutoLims™ product suite can help healthcare providers meet “meaningful use” criteria in multiple areas. In addition to helping achieve ARRA HITECH Act incentive payments, AutoLims maximizes a clinical laboratory’s productivity, efficiency and profitability.

Clinical laboratories and pathology groups will soon be required to maintain laboratory information systems (LIS) that can interface directly with a physician’s office electronic medical records (EMR). This is part of the mandate to prove “meaningful use” and therefore receive the maximum incentive funds under the HITECH Act.

It has been estimated that this mandate will drive more than 400,000 physicians toward EMR implementation over the next 60 months. These physicians will need a direct LIS-to-EMR interface that will enable them to order lab tests over the Internet and receive results back that can be downloaded into their patients' electronic records.

“AutoLims positions our clients to comply with multiple 'meaningful use' criteria,” commented Aron Tessler, CEO of Modern Diagnostic Laboratory. “Using the system's reporting capabilities, our clients will be able to meet 11 out of the 20 'meaningful use' criteria that have been identified by CMS.”

AutoLims advanced architecture and design includes multi-tier technology, multiple platforms support (all variants of Windows clients, UNIX/Windows Servers), multiple database support (Oracle, MSSQL, Informix, Cache), multiple order entry method support (screen, barcode, OMR, ASCII files), multi-user technology, browser access to lab results and flexible color XML/XSL reporting.
