With a goal to infuse $250,000 into the local economy, SanDiego.com has launched a Community Partners initiative to provide marketing and promotional support to properties and major community events in San Diego County.
According to Ron Donoho, chief editorial officer of SanDiego.com, the company will be supporting as many as 100 events in San Diego in 2011 with Website presence, email marketing and social media support.
“San Diego has a vibrant business community and also has some of the most creative annual events,” said Donoho, who hails from the Baltimore area and spent several years in New York City.
“At SanDiego.com, we want to join forces with the event producers that make San Diego such a dynamic place to do business. From Fleet Week to Comic Con to the International Auto Show to surfing competitions for humans and pets, San Diego is defined by its one-of-a-kind festivals and community gatherings.
“We plan to build the most comprehensive list of events in San Diego County and be the go-to source for visitors and locals alike for where to go and what to do in San Diego,” Donoho continued. “And by doing this we will be providing unsurpassed marketing power to local properties and event promoters.”
SanDiego.com will be a distribution center for discount tickets as well as free tickets for approved partner events, Donoho added. Event promoters can retrieve a Community Partners application on sandiego.com/community-partners.

According to Donoho, the company is in an expansion mode and recently hired a new VP of operations and a new VP of production. Sales representatives are currently being recruited.
