Award Winning Executive Brings More than 16 Years of Retirement Plan Consulting Experience to Human Resource Association

Jania Stout, Vice President at PSA Insurance and Financial Services has been elected president of The Chesapeake Human Resources Association (CHRA), a local chapter of the National Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) effective June 1, 2011. Currently, Ms. Stout is the Director of Membership Development for the Association, whose mission as a non-profit is to be the voice of the profession on human resource management issues.

As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF©) with more than 16 years providing advice and counsel to employee retirement plan sponsors regarding both qualified and non-qualified plans and defined benefit plans, Stout brings an extensive background to her new role.

“We’re enormously fortunate to have Jania take the helm,” said Fredrick Smock, the current President of CHRA. “Not only does she bring the depth and breadth of financial and management expertise needed for us to grow, but she already has an abounding knowledge of our organization.”

Stout oversees the Fiduciary Consulting Group at PSA Insurance and Financial Services. The group—which Stout founded—specializes in helping clients understand their fiduciary responsibilities relating to their company’s retirement plan and how to best protect those in fiduciary roles.

“We’re extremely happy to see Jania’s leadership and expertise recognized,” said PSA Managing Director Chip Lewis. “She has a strong track record of advising and protecting her impressive client base and with her in-depth knowledge of plan strategy, legislation and fiduciary responsibilities, will be an invaluable resource for CHRA.”

Before coming to PSA, Stout was a Vice President at Lockton Companies, as well as a Vice President in Fidelity Investment’s middle market division. Additionally, she was recognized as a finalist for the 2010 PLANSPONSOR “Adviser Team of the Year” award, and made the PLANADVISER “Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisors” list in addition to recently being nominated for 401KWire’s List of the “300 Most Influential Advisors” in Defined Contribution.

With nearly 600 members and two student chapters, CHRA is the largest local chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management in Maryland.
