Rivermine, a leading provider of on-demand solutions that manage organizations’ mobile and network-related communications lifecycle expenses and a division of Emptoris, Inc., has been named a Leader in the first “Magic Quadrant for Telecom Expense Management” 1. The Gartner Magic Quadrant represents vendor performance in a market segment with designated categories for leaders, challengers, visionaries and niche players. Vendors are measured on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

According to the report, “For most companies, fixed and mobile communications services are among the top five business expenses, but they often do a poor job of managing processes relating to communications spending. Companies of all sizes can benefit from using telecom expense management (TEM) services to offload noncore activities and optimize related spending.”

“Rivermine’s track record of rapid growth illustrates our commitment to consistently provide first-rate customer service and drive millions of dollars in savings for our customers,” said Mark Logan, president, Rivermine division. “We believe our position in the Leaders quadrant reflects this success and recognizes our dedication to delivering industry-leading telecom expense management solutions globally.”

Gartner, Inc. invited 50 TEM solution providers from various geographic regions to participate in the Magic Quadrant process. Of those, 18 vendors were rated in the Magic Quadrant. The report also indicates that the TEM market grew from slightly more than $750 million 2009 to just under $895 million in 2010.

Rivermine offers a comprehensive suite of on-demand solutions for managing and optimizing organizations’ expenses associated with corporate wireline and wireless assets. With more than $6 billion in annual telecom spend under management, Rivermine delivers a wide range of domestic and global services to a geographically diverse customer base—many included in the Fortune 1000.

According to the report, companies positioned in Gartner’s Leaders quadrant meet the following criteria: “Leaders have a full portfolio of process management and advisory services. They have also branched into highly visible adjacent markets, such as MDM, to offer services such as enhanced inventory tracking and proactive, event-based expense management. These services are delivered with good quality, across a wide coverage area, and at competitive prices, by well-staffed account teams. Leaders have a strong vision of the market and their role within it. Leaders are more able than other providers to address a broad range of customers with deep service expectations.”
