The ‘Try and Buy’ image is configured and running today in the DCS data center

Distributed Compliance Solutions LLC (‘DCS’) today announced they have packaged a pre-configured Documentum VMware Appliance for users to evaluate EMC Documentum products. This product is similar to the Appliances that DCS has validated and used to deploy a new hosted customer for development or production in five days and less.
“This VMware solution has allowed DCS to have an environment ready for evaluation in under a week. The EMC Documentum VMware image is also portable, so when the customer completes the purchase they can continue with the hosting at the DCS SAS70 Type II certified data facilities or move the VMware servers behind their firewall,” noted Ronda Ringo, Director, Business Development of EMC Partnership for Distributed Compliance Solutions. Ms. Ringo added, “This gives the customer thirty days to work with their content, regulatory requirements and company guidance to see how well Documentum fits into their corporate goals. The DCS 'Try and Buy' approach re-vamps the old proof of concept model by allowing the customer to get their feet wet with the technology and at the same time not scrapping thirty days of work.”
The ‘Try and Buy’ offering is a preconfigured product running in the DCS hosted environment for customer preview. The DCS Appliance can be deployed at the customer site without any further DCS services. DCS does offer; deployment, migration, administration, technical and help desk support as needed. In addition, DCS is working with customers on additional ‘Try and Buy’ offerings with VMware deployments like Microsoft SharePoint and others.
