Pacific Rock Productions CEO and Emmy Award winning producer, Cherie Peters, regularly produces shows for television and major cable networks such as "Fit to Hit" for the Tennis Channel (now in its second season). But when Peters met Kathy Forti, a clinical psychologist and technology inventor of Trinfinity8, they found they shared a common goal--to create a web series that was as dynamic as premium television content.
Forti, a writer and clinical psychologist for over 20 years, awoke one night from a dream so compelling that she had to write it down. This became the TV pilot script for STACKS which soon went on to win a Slamdance Teleplay Award. But timing is everything and the writer’s strike was on. Scripts weren’t selling and the new media of the internet was so intriguing Forti rewrote it as a web series. Using all their collective professional friends in the industry, Forti and Peters shot all 11 STACKS episodes in a mere 6 days. Peters drafted her husband, Paul J. Peters, an award winning Hollywood Production Designer to direct the series. He brought on veteran cinematographer Daniel Turrett who he worked with on "American Pie". “We were able to assemble an amazing team of professional,” recalls Peters. “Primarily because they were intrigued by new media and really loved the story.”
STACKS – The Story…
STACKS opens with 28 year old struggling tabloid reporter Cali Cavaleri, played by Jackie Tohn (of "American Idol" and "Memphis Beat"), stumbling upon a dead guy’s cell phone. The phone holds a logarithm that opens a portal to a 6th dimensional Library of Truth controlled by a secret society of powers brokers called MINERVA. Soon Cali’s got a well-meaning library nerd poking around her business, at the same time being pursued by handsome FBI Agent, Eric Martsolf (soap star of "Passions" and "Days of Our Lives"). With the tagline, "The Truth Can Kill You," STACKS will take you on an 11-episode journey through time and space as well as the stacks of the real life Beverly Hills Library.
