18th Annual Catholics In Media Associates (CIMA) Film & TV Awards to "Conviction," "Blue Bloods" and "The Bold and The Beautiful" on Sunday, February 20th at Beverly Hills Hotel ceremony

The Catholics in Media Associates (CIMA) 18th Annual Mass and Awards Brunch on Sunday, February 20th, 2011 will honor Fox Searchlight Films’ “Conviction” and CBS Television’s “Blue Bloods.” The CBS daytime drama “The Bold and The Beautiful” will receive the CIMA 2011 Humanitarian Award. The event at the Beverly Hills Hotel, Beverly Hills, CA, will begin with a Mass at 10:00 AM with a brunch and awards ceremony to follow, announced CIMA President Haskell Vaughn Anderson III. Mole-Richardson Company is honorary co-chair and John Kelly is producer of the 2011 event.

The CIMA Awards were created in 1992 by former DGA President Jack Shea and other prominent Catholics in the entertainment industry. Their purpose is “To promote and applaud individuals, films and TV programs that uplift the spirit and help us better understand what it is to be part of the human family.”

The CIMA 2011 Film Award will be given to Fox Searchlight’s “Conviction,” directed by Tony Goldwyn, written by Pamela Gray and produced by Andrew Sugerman, Andrew S. Karsch and Tony Goldwyn. “Conviction,” which stars Hilary Swank, Sam Rockwell and Melissa Leo, is the inspirational true story of a sister's unwavering efforts to overturn her brother’s unjust murder conviction.

The 2010 CIMA Television Award will be presented to the CBS Television series “Blue Bloods.” Created by Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green and starring Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan, “Blue Bloods” is a about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement.

The CIMA 2011 Humanitarian Award goes to CBS’s daytime drama “The Bold and The Beautiful” for an ongoing storyline about the homeless population of Los Angeles. According to Mediametre, “The Bold and The Beautiful” is the most watched daily television series in the world.

CIMA was formed in 1992 by working professionals in the entertainment industry to help them relate their faith to their professional lives. Through the annual awards, CIMA recognizes films, television programs and other entertainment forms that lift the spirit and help us better understand what it is to be part of the human family.
