As is the tradition of CeBIT, German Chancellor Angela Merkel opened the show, and visited along with Binali Y1ld1r1m, Turkish Minister for Transportation a few sponsors of the event. With the focus of the show on Cloud Computing, the Chancellor and Minister met with GBS to discuss and see their GBS Live product.

Hosted in the German IBM data center under the strictest security standards, the GBS Live cloud computing platform brings IBM Lotus-based solutions and other applications to the cloud in a fully automated way. This allows independent software vendors (ISVs), companies and data centers to break new ground in the delivery of their applications, while saving time-consuming and cost-intensive hardware and software adjustments. GBS will also be showing their Transformer product. GBS Transformer converts Lotus Domino applications automatically into web and cloud enabled XPages applications. It provides a swift and easy modernization of existing Domino applications in a cost-efficient way. Other products they will be highlighting are their comprehensive Email Management and Instant Messaging solutions.
