On Sunday April 10, over 100 friends, family, community members and customers celebrated the grand opening of the new Santhigram Wellness Center in White Plains, NY. This is the sixth center opened by Santhigram Kerala Ayurvedic Co of USA and the only one in New York.
At the grand opening, visitors were given tours of the facilities. They also interacted with Ayurvedic therapists, participated in free consultations and enjoyed catered Indian appetizers and lunch.
The center offers traditional Kerala Ayurvedic therapies for a variety of ailments and is open seven days a week. It is an oasis of peace and tranquility set in a secluded cottage in the midst of Westchester County in New York. Yet it is conveniently located within minutes from three major highways, I-95, I-287 and the Hutchinson River Parkway.
A formal blessing was conducted by H.G. Dr. Yakob Mar Irenaios who was on a visit to USA from Kerala. Dr. Gopinathan Nair, the President of Santhigram USA, in his welcome speech said, "I would like to recognize the young group of partners of the new center Ms. Jaya Koshy, Mr. Jaison Thomas, Ms. Shyno Chacko and Ms. Jaime Thomas for having the vision of bringing Holistic Health Care to Westchester which can be seen through the creation of this fantastic new facility and would also like to recognize the team for working hard to prepare for this event." He added, "This center is much more than a new facility - it is a testament to Santhigram’s ongoing dedication to sharing the benefits of Ayurveda with the rest of the world. I expect it to be an outstanding resource for the community and a place for our customers to receive superior service."
Mr. Alex Koshy of the World Malayalee Council and a community leader who spoke on the occasion appreciated the efforts of Santhigram in bringing authentic ayurvedic therapies to United States and expressed the view that this venture will help many people who were otherwise travelling all the way to Kerala to avail such services. He has lent his all out support for the new venture.
One of the partners of the new facility Mr. Jaison Thomas, thanked the visitors for attending the grand opening, recognized various supporters and talked about their commitment to promoting health, wellness and holistic care.
Jaison said, "As first-generation Indian Americans, we are proud of our roots and traditions in Kerala and are excited to be able to bring this ancient healing practice to our community"
