With a 20+ year history in aquaponics and a steady growth curve, Nelson and Pade, Inc. is gearing up to service their expanding customer base by increasing their training and product offerings, all supported by qualified staff with a wealth of experience to share. Nelson and Pade, Inc. offers complete Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems and growing supplies, training and workshops, consulting and information on aquaponics and tours of their aquaponics greenhouse. Aquaponics is an integrated method of growing fish and plants in a soilless system.
Dr. James Rakocy, a Wisconsin native, has joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.’s consulting staff in addition to being on their Board of Advisors. Dr. Rakocy earned his PhD in aquaculture from Auburn University in Alabama and for the past 30 years, has worked as the Agricultural Experiment Station Director and Research Professor of Aquaculture at the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) in St. Croix. Dr. Rakocy is the foremost research scientist in aquaponics and is known around the world for his contributions to the development of aquaponic technology.
Sarah Kaatz is joining the Nelson and Pade, Inc. team as the Education Director. Sarah has a Master of Science in Fisheries Biology and Aquaculture from Iowa State and a BS in Biology from University of Wisconsin. Sarah spent the past four years working as an Aquaculture Outreach Specialist with the University of Wisconsin Extension. Sarah’s broad range of experience in aquaculture, biology and education will enhance Nelson and Pade, Inc.’s education program and allow diversification in workshop offerings. As Education Director, Sarah will be involved in workshops, the extended stay learning program and working with schools to integrate aquaponics into existing curriculums for students of all ages.
Kathleen Paynter was recently promoted to Operations Manager. Kathleen has been with Nelson and Pade, Inc since the fall of 2009, during which time she has excelled in many areas, including her abilities to organize and manage a variety of tasks and functions. As Operations Manager, Kathleen oversees all day-to-day operations of Nelson and Pade, Inc. and is the next in charge after owners, Rebecca Nelson and John Pade. Kathleen is also the go-to person for information on workshops, systems, consulting and more!
