Cooper Square Realty, the largest residential property management company in New York City, has formed a new division called CityLine. CityLine resides within the company’s property management business and consists of the company’s portfolio of conventional housing managed in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Long Island. The CityLine division includes 160 properties with more than 22,000 residential units.
“This is an exciting consolidation for Cooper Square Realty that better positions us to deliver consistent solutions to our clients across our property management operations,” says David Kuperberg, Chief Executive Officer of Cooper Square Realty. “By having all of our managed properties in these boroughs and Long Island operate as one division, we will strengthen this area of our business and will be able to further expand our services.” The CityLine division includes 70 Cooper Square Realty employees.
The company also announced the promotion of Keith Werny has been promoted to President of the CityLine division Werny, formerly a Senior Vice President, is a 16-year industry veteran, the last 13 of which have been spent leading management operations within Cooper Square Realty. A Registered Apartment Manager (RAM), Werny was named “RAM of the Year” by the Associated Builders and Owners (ABO) of Greater New York. He also is a past recipient of Habitat magazine’s “Management Achievement Gold Award.” Werny holds a degree in psychology and management from Dowling College.
While experienced in managing all types of properties, Werny’s specialty is management of large residential properties ranging from 300 to 1,200 units, and using his talent and teambuilding skills to motivate his staff and building personnel.
“Keith has a proven track record of success at Cooper Square Realty,” adds Kuperberg. “His leadership skills have been instrumental in the successful turn-around of numerous properties ranging from improving staff performance, resident and board relations, to organizing multi-million dollar renovation and repair projects.”
