Love has long been a topic of discussion. Books, films, plays, poetry; love has had the starring role in all of them. Yet, according to author Dahlia Senft, love is an emotion often misunderstood. “Although it is one of the greatest emotions, it is seldom taught in school or at home,” says Dahlia. With the release of her new book “Love” (published by AuthorHouse), she hopes to change that.
Featuring colorful illustrations to entice young readers, “Love” also features a creative storyline meant to keep adult audiences equally enraptured. “Love” tells the story of a young maiden. After many years of viewing herself as anything but beautiful, the maiden gets a lesson in self-awareness. When a colorful cast of characters teach the maiden to see her beauty, the maiden is then able to see the beauty in others.
Yet, like all good stories, there’s a twist. The maiden turns out to be the reader. “The difference with this book is the beautiful person is the person reading the book,” explains Dahlia. “So often the prince or princess is in the book and the person reading the book is separated from this.”
Dahlia has written this story to promote positive self-image in addition to delivering a good story. “It is important to write responsibly,” she says. “Who knows the influence it may have?”
