People often take detours in their journey in life and sometimes find themselves in dead ends. When they do, they should keep moving forward. Author Minister Patricia S. Hatcher-Jones invites readers to travel back in time with her as she reflects on some of the detours she took before arriving at a new chapter in her life.
In “Uh-uh, Daughter, Don't Even Go There”, the author recalls her experiences growing up with five brothers and a single mother. Her parents had divorced when she was around eleven years old—an event which devastated her and sparked the beginning of her downward spiral. Her wayward years began when she entered middle school at the age of twelve, where she learned to survive by acting tough. Looking back, she realizes how Satan had set many disguised traps intended to destroy her; men, drugs, low self-esteem, rebellion, fads, and self-centeredness all seemed to conspire against her. Yet, despite all of Satan’s attempts throughout her life, she always heard the Holy Spirit tell her this time and time again: “Uh-uh, daughter, don’t even go there.”
“When I reflect back on my preteen and adolescent years, I can only thank my Heavenly Father for keeping His hand upon me. Today as a woman being used by God in Ministry, I know that it is only by God’s grace that I have a victorious testimony,” the author says.
As readers browse through this book, they will not only discover an inspirational story of victory over trials, but also find some biblical references and truths that can be used to help people either avoid the trap or get delivered from the trap.
“Uh-uh, Daughter, Don't Even Go There” will be featured at the California School Library Book Exhibit in Pasadena, CA on November 11-14, 2011. For more information on this book, interested parties may log on to http://www.Xlibris.com.
