Bring the dessert! Combine this idea with exercising portion control, and stay in great shape come the New Year.
Tip #5: Meat Substitution Doesn't Mean No Fun and No Flavor
High calorie and high fat meat dishes can still be great and quite tasty with healthier, lower fat alternatives. Try new recipes during the holidays that incorporate lower fat, healthier meat alternatives like skinless poultry and meals that are prepared with broiling or baking. Consider substituting your typical meat dish with salmon.
Tip #6: Look for Hidden Fat
Just as many fast food dishes, such as salads, are often loaded with hidden fat, chemicals and preservatives, the same holds true for holiday treats. Cut out many unnecessary calories from your diet and keep the inches off by being extra observant during the holidays. A few moments of work looking for the hidden fat will be worth the time.
