Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) December 16, 2011
A recent opinion piece in the New York Times titled “Do Happier People Work Harder?” referred to “America’s disengagement crisis,” a situation Gallup estimates costs $300 billion annually.
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), whose research has uncovered similar findings, put it this way: “Job dissatisfaction can contribute to multiple organizational problems and has been associated with increased levels of turnover and absenteeism, which ultimately cost the organization in terms of low performance and decreased productivity.”
Why don’t people just up and leave? Nearly a third of the workforce would if they could, an SHRM survey shows. Which raises the question: “What if you could?”
During the month of December, the Project Management Professionals (PMPs) at Cheetah Learning, Project Management Institute’s 2008 Provider of the Year, are offering Tips, Tools and Deals that help make business professionals more productive and efficient. Their theme is “Reduce Workplace Conflict.”
The most recent offering to help reach that goal is the “Career Opportunity Scan,” a free download that enables participants to assess which career options are right for them. The download is available by filling out a form at http://www.CheetahLearning.com.
The “Career Opportunity Scan” is a simple yet effective worksheet that, among other things, helps professionals identify the characteristics of their ideal job and assess the importance of each characteristic.
Other free offerings include: PMP Exam Prep SmartStart Guide, PMP Practice Exam, 2 PDU Skills Assessment Course, and the Getting Started with PM Guide, along with “great deals” on Professional Development Units (PDUs).
As the PMPs at Cheetah point out: “You know it when you have it – that is the ideal job for you. This happens when your personality matches the requirements and temperament of the job.”
Increased job satisfaction, performance and productivity are just some of the positive results of “The Cheetah Way,” Project Management done correctly.
Michelle LaBrosse, Cheetah’ CEO and founder, has writing multiple books related to that subject, each available at http://www.maklafpress.com. Among them: “Cheetah Project Management, The Fastest Way to Reach Your Goals,” published by MAKLAF Press, ISBN-10: 0-9761749-5-2.
LaBrosse is recognized by the Project Management Institute as one of the top 25 most influential women worldwide in Project Management. Her insights can be found at:
