Pensacola, FL (PRWEB) December 30, 2011
Smart Horizons Institute today announced two center-based programs for early childhood educators to meet staff professional development requirements. These center-based programs are for centers of up to 50 users and centers of up to 20 users.
Early childhood directors face challenges each year tracking staff professional development. In many cases staff takes only the minimum training required, takes the same courses each year, or waits until the last minute to meet state requirements. Smart Horizon’s Early Childhood Professional Development program ensures owners, directors, or training managers can offer quality training to their entire staff in order to meet the annual training requirements in a timely manner.
These center-based programs enhance the quality of the center by providing the staff with educational enrichment and allowing them to develop new skills that can be implemented into their programs. Instead of giving staff an unstructured list of courses, directors are able to select courses to meet the needs of their staff.
Using the center-based programs, the owner, director, or training manager selects up to three individualized catalogs that meet their state’s training requirements. The provider then has the opportunity to select one of three catalogs. The three-catalog program consists of 170 hours of training, as well as these program features:
- Online learning environment customized to their center’s design
- Student records management and reporting
- Online self-paced training
- New offerings each year
- Customized selection of in–service training to meet state requirements
- Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for every course
- A full 365 days to complete the training
- Help desk and customer support
- Access to courseware 24 hours a day
Certificates and CEU documents are accessible immediately after course completion for learners or for administrators. The certificates are generated automatically and can be printed or saved. When it is time to renew the following year, the director or training manager has the opportunity to select new catalogs.
