Large Collections of Documents Searchable Visually

It's. . . almost magical. You ask a question of a vast number of documents, and the answer comes to you. You get visual responses that are perfect for the iPad interface.

OrcaTec, creators of the OrcaTec Document Decisioning Suite™, which reduces the time, cost and effort of analyzing, categorizing and retrieving documents from large collections by 93%, announced that its entire Suite now works on the iPad as well as on Android, PC and Mac systems.

The Suite, which allows visual analysis of large collections of documents, is perfectly suited to the iPad/iPhone approach, according to OrcaTec CTO and Chief Scientist, Dr. Herbert L. Roitblat.

“Business people, lawyers and other professionals are finding the iPad an attractive way to obtain and present answers. The Document Decisioning Suite is now another tool for that purpose,” said Roitblat. “It’s really very Harry Potter. Almost magical. You ask a question of a vast number of documents, and the answer comes to you. You get visual responses that are perfect for the iPad interface.”

The recently launched OrcaTec Document Decisioning Suite currently consists of three tools:

  •     OrcaCategorize, which uses advanced predictive coding – machine learning, and a small amount of expert time to aid that learning – to cull responsive documents from huge collections in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  •     OrcaSearch, which provides visual representations of concepts and communication patterns, as well as word suggestions, misspelling suggestions, email threading, near-duplicate detection, and interesting phrases that the searcher may not have considered in order to find relevant documents.
  •     OrcaCluster, which provides visual clustering of documents by related topic, enabling the searcher to identify and tag responsive and non-responsive groups of documents quickly and easily.

“From identifying the languages used in a document collection, to visually assessing who the lynchpins are in e-mail conversations, to rapidly culling many terabytes of documents, the OrcaTec Decisioning Suite is now able to do on the iPad what it does on a desktop or laptop,” said Roitblat.

“We’re happy to provide our tools for however and wherever people like to work.”

Atlanta-based OrcaTec delivers products and services for visually, defensibly, and automatically revealing information that is precise, insightful and expert-driven from large collections of documents. Beyond key word searching, the topic-based OrcaTec Document Decisioning Suite™ is especially useful in eDiscovery, GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance), or anywhere documents have to be identified, categorized, or understood. Included in the Suite are OrcaCategorize, OrcaSearch and OrcaCluster. Visualize a new concept in document decisioning at http://www.orcatec.com or by calling 888-355-2200.
