Miami, FL (PRWEB) July 18, 2011
Appearing at the 6th Annual Homeland Security Professionals Conference and Expo (HSPCE) at the Palace Station Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, Dr. Mauricio Lynn of Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida will be showcasing his years of expertise on Mass Casualty Incidence. This will be a “can’t miss” class for any first responder or agency interested in Homeland Security and disaster response.
An 18-year retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Israeli military, Dr. Lynn will bring a unique and indelible perspective on dealing with natural and man-made disasters that result in mass casualties. His travels around the world including Haiti and Turkey after their crippling earthquakes and the Nairobi embassy bombing will serve as a vital plateau for educating and engaging participants of the class.
Dr. Mauricio Lynn has brought back his experiences and expertise back to the states. As a Trauma Surgeon and Critical Care Specialist at Jackson Memorial Medical Center affiliated with the University of Miami, Dr. Lynn has turned Jackson into a real disaster-ready state. He also serves as Disaster consultant for the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and disaster consultant for Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
SSI and Dr. Lynn have held previous classes with its popular Organizational Response to Mass Casualty Incidents (ORMAC). This program has covered topics such as definition and characteristics of MCI, Hospital decontamination and triage: site organization principles and the ten commandments of sudden mass casualties just to name a few.
