Past News Releases

Effective immediately, YourCity.MD will release all of its patient health care rating comments in its 500 .MD city sites ten days after they are written; whether they are positive or negative. Previously, Doctors could act on the negative comments by trying to reconcile with the patient but the actual patient comments never appeared on the site, only the negative numerical rating was shown. That is no longer the case.

CMO at YourCity.MD, Dr Russ Vester told us, “Doctors will still have the same wonderful opportunity to correct patient issues and maintain their great reputations for 10 days after receiving an email from YourCity.MD telling them they have patient feedback to review. Doctors need to register free on their .MD city website in order to be notified of their patient feedback because regardless all the postings are go live on the web. If doctors wish to avoid patient problems, squelch lawsuits in their tracks and improve patient care then they finally have all the tools to do so in their own city.

Doctors not only need to register on the site and check it daily because you do not want any negative testimonials on your profile. Many Doctors have used these sites to make amends with patients and work out any issues the patient had with their experience. This leads to a better Doctor-patient relationship and leads to the patient rerating their Doctor and giving him/her a new rating that is positive. This system also has another Doctor benefit. Doctors have the ability to reconcile and to work out problems through the YourCity.MD system for no cost and have lowered their malpractice insurance in some cases. This added benefit is a result of solving patient issues without the use of lawyers or the insurance firm.

The system is very easy to use as well; once registered on the site the doctor is notified by email from YourCity.MD informing him or her that they just received patient feedback on their practice. If the doctor receives positive feedback they can post it immediately. If the feedback is a negative review, the doctor can respond back to the patient privately (even to anonymous patients because the email is private from YourCity.MD to both parties hiding the patients email address from the doctor). The doctor can request that the patient come in to correct the issue or make other appropriate arrangements. After the follow-up the doctor can request by private email that the patient rerate and give the Doctor a better rating if they feel the doctor rectified the problem. The final decision is that of the patient but in most cases we are told that the patient does indeed rerate the doctor much higher after the intervention.

CEO, Joe Benza said, “My mother told me as a young boy that there are 2 sides to every story! Our rating system has been overlooked by the media to date because it is extremely fair and aims to correct patient problems and improve health care at the same time. Boring but true. Look at the other rating sites that are discussed in the news everyday and you will see they are considered news worthy because they report the extremes and even lie about good doctors just to generate lots of viewers. Web sites are virtually untouchable because they are allowed to publish every lie or made up story so long as they do not modify the post. Well, the time for transparency is certainly here and now but we must have a fair method of doling out our ratings and not just a method of destroying doctors without giving them true recourse to discuss “the other side of the story”.
