This is about giving thanks to all the dedicated actors who help cast our projects by giving us their time and energy to an audition. I am thankful to every talent who has auditioned for a part in any film, TV, or theater project. National Actors Day is about acknowledging their dedication, enthusiasm & perseverance to the industry.

CSA Casting director, Helen McCready announced today that the inaugural National Actors Day will be held on September 8, 2011 from 7:00pm to 11:00pm at the Libertine Restaurant at 8210 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90046. This Red Carpet event will include; Celebrity Guests, Entertainment/Live Band, Stand Up Comics, Meet & Mingle with Industry Professionals, Raffles, Head-shot and Resume drop box and much more! Actors are free to attend (your ticket is your head-shot - you MUST bring it with you!) and non-actors can purchase tickets at Helen(at)HelenWheels(dot)net for $10. Space is limited so actors must RSVP or they cannot get into this event!

“National Actors Day is about giving thanks to all the dedicated actors who help cast our projects by giving us their time and energy to an audition,” says McCready. “I am thankful to every talent who has auditioned for a part in any film, TV, or theater project. National Actors Day is about acknowledging their dedication, enthusiasm & perseverance to the industry. It's the celebration of all actors from extras to listers, but mostly about the everyday actor who works so hard and doesn’t get the recognition they deserve,” McCready states. “When an actor auditions, they spend their own time, gas, money to do it and may do hundreds throughout their career—all at their expense not knowing if they will get the job.” McCready believes the industry should appreciate it more than they do. “Actors deserve a great deal of respect for what they do and what we put them through to cast a film or TV show,” says McCready. McCready is also the author of “Audition & Book It”, that tells the actor how to go from the audition to booking the role. Some of the proceeds from her book are monetarily helping to make National Actors Day a success.
