BioFit Engineered Products today announced the introduction of the Afton™ mobile folding table. The latest addition to Ohio-based manufacturer’s EdgeScape™ Designer Series, the S-shaped table promises to provide interior designers and facility planners with a variety of new floor plan configuration alternatives. Developed for educational, institutional and hospitality environments as well as food courts and event centers, the Afton is another example of BioFit’s objective of bringing aesthetically appealing furniture design to a variety of markets while maintaining the ergonomic performance and product durability for which the company is known.

The Afton’s unique S-shaped top provides a world of new design opportunities for food courts, event centers and more.

The flowing pattern and natural wave of the Afton envelops its users, which we think will give a more relaxed, ‘cozy’ feeling, not to mention that it’s more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the standard rectangular table.

BioFit Engineered Products, a long standing leader in the development of ergonomic furnishing solutions, has introduced a unique addition to the company’s product line with the Afton™ mobile folding table. The Ohio based manufacturer’s new S-shaped table promises to give new aesthetic and floor plan configuration options to the interior design market. Developed for educational, institutional and hospitality environments as well as food courts and event centers, the Afton is another example of BioFit’s objective of bringing aesthetically appealing furniture design to a variety of industries while maintaining the ergonomic performance and product durability for which the company has been known for nearly 20 years.

The Afton is made with solid materials, including a 14-gauge steel base, and is built for comfort, safety, and quick and easy set-up, take-down, and storage. It features an anti-pinch gap as well as BioFit’s ComfortRim™ edge profile, which is gentle on users’ forearms and stops food and other debris from getting trapped in the table top banding. Reinforcing BioFit’s commitment to the welfare of their end-use customers and the environment, the Afton is LEED® compliant for use in commercial interiors and is GREENGUARD™ Indoor Air Quality and Children & Schools certified. As with nearly all other BioFit products, the Afton carries an upfront 13-year warranty.

The Afton, whose name and appearance is inspired by the River Afton in Ayrshire, Scotland, is an innovative addition to the company’s EdgeScape™ Designer Table series, according to Liz Sworden, BioFit’s Director of Marketing. “The flowing pattern and natural wave of the Afton envelops its users, which we think will give a more relaxed, ‘cozy’ feeling, not to mention that it’s more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the standard rectangular table.” The distinctive physical appearance of the Afton, Sworden notes, “will open a world of design possibilities to many markets when compared to more traditional open settings, particularly as it can be used alone or harmoniously with other BioFit table models.”

Located in Bowling Green, Ohio, BioFit Engineered Products is a leading manufacturer and global provider of LEED-compliant ergonomic seating, GREENGUARD-certified cafeteria and mobile tables, carts and specialty products for educational, office, laboratory, industrial, bio- and high tech, healthcare, hospitality and custom environments.
