Samuels to Head Growing Office in Central Region

Razorfish, one of the world’s fastest growing digital agencies, today announced they have hired Ray Samuels, 42, a former Razorfish employee and most recently of Interpublic Group’s Huge, as Managing Director of their Atlanta office. Samuels will report to Shannon Denton, president of Razorfish’s Central Region, and will oversee the operations of one of the region’s most rapidly expanding offices. Previously, Samuels was a London-based Managing Director of Huge for two years.

“We have a very diverse set of growing clients in the Razorfish Atlanta office,” said Denton. “We were seeking a leader that was obviously very client focused but also someone who had a holistic understanding of all aspects of digital, including marketing programs, experience design and platform development. Having worked with Ray in the past and understanding his passion and strengths, we were confident that his experience fit the bill.”

“I couldn’t be happier to return to Razorfish in the midst of a pivotal growth period,” said Samuels. “While many agencies are refocusing digital priorities and beginning to integrate specialty services, Razorfish is in the position to continue to build on this pre-established foundation. I’m excited to work with such a versatile group of talented people and aid in the agency’s future development.”

Prior to serving as Managing Director at Huge, Samuels spent two years at Razorfish’s New York office as a Vice President and Client Partner, working on marquee accounts such as Unilever and Capital One. He previously was a Senior Vice President and Director of the Interactive Services practice at The Martin Agency. Beforehand, Samuels was a Vice President at Marketing Management Analytics, a pioneer in developing innovative methods for measuring the impact of advertising and other marketing mix components on sales.

“Razorfish is passionate about creating transformational experiences and marketing programs through the intersection of media, technology and creativity,” said Denton. “In order to innovate at the epicenter of this trifecta, our leadership clearly needs to share this belief. Ray not only trusts this philosophy, he has made it a personal mandate to practice it.”

Samuels began his career as Director of Client Services at Modem Media, an interactive marketing service provider. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in European Studies from Vanderbilt University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Samuels started in his new role on October 9th.
