Salon Khouri, a Fairfax hair salon acclaimed by Northern Virginia Magazine, recently held their 6th Annual Cut-a-Thon to 'cut out' pediatric cancer in October, as well as their 5th Annual Pink Hair For Hope campaign to raise money for breast cancer research. The successful events raised a total of $1125 to be donated to the The Band of Parents Foundation and The Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation and $710 that is donated through the Pink Hair for Hope foundation to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program from the American Cancer Society.
"We are so happy to announce that, since we've been holding these events, we have raised a total of $3330 for breast cancer research and $8425 for pediatric cancer research. It's a true honor to be able to give back to our community through these annual events, and we thank our clients and community for supporting these events," noted co-owner of Salon Khouri, Jennifer Elkhouri.
The staff of the Fairfax hair salon is now ramping up for their annual food drive. Customers who bring a can of food into the salon for donation during the month of November receive $1 off their service per canned good, up to $5.
