A representative from Likewise Skincare responds to an article published by Reporter News concerning the various measures that can be taken to combat oily skin.

On November 9, Likewise Skincare, a producer of oily skin moisturizer, comments on an article published by Reporter News which discusses various tips to help those with oily skin attain a healthy complexion.

Reporter News states, “While the one benefit of having oily skin is your skin ages better than those who have dry skin, and wrinkles form later in life because of the oil, all the other side effects make it almost not worth it.” The article goes on to report various methods to help combat oil buildup. In addition to a good cleanser, the article recommends using blotting sheets. According to the article, “The best way to remove the midday oil buildup is with blotting sheets. These compact sheets absorb oil, allowing the unwanted shine to disappear.” Reporter News goes on to state that facial tissues or clean toilet seat covers can be inexpensive alternatives to purchasing blotting sheets.

The article continues by explaining that moisturizer can be beneficial to those with oily skin. According to Reporter News, “This allows moisture to penetrate the skin from an outside source, allowing your body to create less to supplement the amount it thinks you need.”

According to Lisa Shariat, a representative for the scientific skincare brand Likewise Skincare, “Those with oily skin shouldn’t shy away from using moisturizer. Although some may believe moisturizer won’t benefit an oily complexion, this is absolutely untrue. There are skincare products out there that can cater to oily skin. In fact, Likewise Skincare produces an oily skin moisturizer that is specially formulated with azelaic acid which will help control oil build up.”

In addition to a great cleanser, blotting sheets and a proper moisturizer, the article also recommends using a pressed powder makeup to combat shine. Reporter News states, “For ladies who wear makeup, a matte powder is the way to go. Adding a liquid foundation does not complete the same task as a moisturizer.” The article goes on to state, “[P]owders easily can be layered to absorb the oil and not look heavy.”

Likewise Skincare was founded by board-certified dermatologist and President of Likewise, Inc., Dr. Julie Pena. Likewise daily moisturizers are all-in-one but not one-fits-all. Each moisturizer is formulated with skin-balancing toners to work with your specific skin type. The moisturizers use a combination of anti-aging antioxidants, ultra-protective zinc oxide and water-resistant ingredients to keep you protected.
