Walker Sands Communications, a top digital marketing and public relations agency for technology companies ranging from startups to enterprise-level software providers, announced today it received a Silver Davey Award in the “Website Redesign: Retail” category for its work with CDW Merchants, a leading provider of visual retail displays and e-commerce gift packaging for retailers.

Walker Sands’ design overhaul refreshed CDW Merchants’ website with up-to-date, relevant content and aesthetically pleasing graphics to showcase its impressive line of work. The new site features easy-to-navigate paths to information, allowing CDW Merchants to position itself ahead of competitors who cannot show the same level of work that CDW Merchants can deliver. The previous website lacked clear functionality and images of CDW Merchants’ real-life displays, resulting in a missed opportunity to visually connect with potential retail clients.

“We strive to understand the core business value behind our clients’ work and then design an effective web presence that directly assists in these initiatives,” said Mike Santoro, President of Walker Sands. “Winning a Davey Award is a direct testament to the focus we place on our clients’ overall business goals during the design process.”

The Davey Awards is the leading awards competition for smaller creative firms, agencies and companies worldwide and honors the finest creative work that derives from big ideas rather than big budgets. Members of The International Academy of the Visual Arts, an organization of leading professionals from media, advertising and marketing firms, judged and oversaw each category in the competition, which received almost 4,000 total entries.

“This year’s winners truly represent a smart, nimble approach to creativity and embody the quick thinking, resourceful nature that make small agencies so unique,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the International Academy of the Visual Arts.

Walker Sands was recently honored with four Hermes Creative Awards. Its digital work for TrueBlue also won four awards from the American Staffing Association.
