United Kingdom (PRWEB UK) 9 November 2012
Life Line Screening, the UK’s leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings, is offering screenings to aid in the promotion of well-being and stress prevention in honour of National Stress Awareness Day.
This year, National Stress Awareness Day (NSAD) is being celebrated on the 7th November. Organised by the International Stress Management Association (ISMA), the purpose of the campaign is to promote well-being and stress prevention across the UK.
This year’s core focus is on “defining outcomes for well-being at work.” ISMA strives to raise awareness on the growing importance of stress management. With advancements in technology our world has achieved over the years and an "always on" culture, stress levels continue to rise, especially in the workplace.
The most recent estimate from the CIPD Simplyhealth Absence Management survey in October 2011 revealed that “stress has become the most common cause of long-term sickness absence for both manual and non-manual employees.” The highest rates of work-related stress come from healthcare, social service or welfare and education industries.
Life Line Screening is doing its part to increase awareness around tress-prevention and overall well-being by offering preventive health screenings for individuals experiencing high levels of stress. Stress can cause an increased risk for many health conditions, including cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, obesity and more.
Show your support for National Stress Awareness Day by participating in a NSAD event, learning more about stress management or scheduling a preventive health screening at a location near you. With the combination of awareness and prevention, the number of people impacted by stress can be lowered. Find an event near you today.
