Our driver’s latched onto the FuelOpps program almost immediately.
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) November 12, 2012
When regional tanker fleet Crossett implemented Propel IT’s FuelOpps (http://www.propelit.net) fuel efficiency system for truck fleets, they were hopeful for a 3% fuel cost savings. The results are in and the fleet has seen a 5% reduction in fuel burn.
Propel IT, a Qualcomm and PeopleNet partner, developed FuelOppsTM as a cost effective solution that combines business intelligence with incentives. Drivers receive daily actionable feedback over driving behaviors they control. The FuelOpps score eliminates factors that affect a driver’s MPG but are out of his hands such as engine make, load and climate conditions. Worth Archambault (Director of Business Development for Propel IT) adds, “Regardless of the age of the truck, geography or load, there is a most efficient way to drive that vehicle and FuelOpps effectively teaches and rewards drivers for doing just that.”
Drivers are embracing the technology as well. According to Crossett driver Larry Babcock “It has been easy for me to keep track of my own driving and being rewarded for saving the company money. Improvement is good for everyone, the less money our company (spends), the (less) I have to worry about my job security.”
Adds Crossett CFO, Mark Vernallis, “Our drivers latched onto the FuelOpps program almost immediately. To be able to reduce such a large portion of our operating budget by such a big number is a real testament to the Propel Team, the FuelOppsTM technology and Crossett drivers.”
